Development of Centre November 2017 to March 2019
CONQUERING THE NEW LAND
GOD HAS PLACED IN OUR HANDS.
GOD HAS PLACED IN OUR HANDS.
Thank you Lord for opening new doors, oportunities and the many blessings
you are pouring out over your servants.
It is our prayer that much seed is sown spiritually in the children
on the Island of Ometepe as well as many other areas surrounding the Island.
It is my prayer that through this, many children form an intimate relationship
with our Heavenly Father.

When my parents came in January 2018, we spent a lot of time discussing best way to make use of the space available inside the center — at Ometepe, Nicaragua.
![]() Toys had to be sorted, cleaned and organized Good toys were packed in boxes and given away to local Sunday schools in the churches. Since this side of the building will be used for teaching children and training adults, we needed to take down this shelving. Dad already had in mind a use for these beautiful pieces of wood used previously for the kitchen. We completely cleaned up this side of the building ready for our first courses with the churches and of course I would like to have childrens worship times here. Mom did some touch up painting on rusty gates and screens as well as did some sewing for privacy curtains. Mom spent quite a few hours sewing material bought in Moyogalpa right here on this table . While Mom worked on the painting and Dad on the planks of wood, I was busy digging out this planter made out of concrete use it for something interesting. After spending quite a bit of time digging and refilling with some gravel, we turned this planter into a place to store tools! I was amazed to see all the tools fit in and even a 10 foot ladder! One of Dads bright ideas was to use one of the planks as an extra security measure to prevent anything from walking away! During the course of our discussions and planning, we decided to turn the wooden planks into new kitchen counters on the other side of the building. With Dads craftmenship, these beautiful planks of wood were turned into a very nice counter space for the new kitchen. Our friendly neighbour also gave us a good deal on this bar and the stools so we can use the area for eating even when guests come. As you can see also, Dad used the wooden planks for shelving right next to the fridge. At one point during my parents visit in January and February 2018, Yesenia and Emmanuel decided to come along and help with the planning of the center. We spent many long discussions about how the new bathroom will look for those who come to receive courses or when we hold childrens activites. To date (April 24th, 2019) we are still planning how to lay out the future facility. When Emmanuel heard the exciting news of a new bathroom area, he immediately began picking up the rake and cleaning the leaves up to prepare for the new building! He also got out his hammer to help Daddy fix up the bathroom! He still talks about helping his Uncle Herman when he comes to oversee the building of this new project. Please be praying so that God provides the funds to change this outhouse into better facilities for students and children alike to use. Mom had a very busy trip in January and February 2018. After giving baking classes to the ladies in the churches of Ometepe and helping with painting, sewing and planning with the centre, she said: That's it, I need to rest! |
